Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been detained in the United States following the announcement that British prosecutors are pursuing additional charges against them.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed that Andrew Tate faces seven new rape counts together with allegations of sex trafficking and child pornography, while Tristan Tate is charged with one sexual assault, two rapes and three offences related to sexual exploitation trafficking.
The alleged crimes are said to have occurred between around 2010 and 2017. The brothers have consistently denied the accusations.
"These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven," said Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the CPS.
U.S. Marshals confirmed that the men were taken into custody, and a U.S. Department of Justice spokesperson noted the arrests were "pursuant to extradition proceedings." The CPS has said it will seek their extradition to face the new charges.
In May 2025, prosecutors listed 21 charges the brothers are expected to face in the UK, stemming from alleged offences between 2012 and 2016.
